Meet Linette, Owner/Professional  Litigation Paralegal

I have been in the legal profession for almost 35 years. I started my career in Northcentral Pennsylvania as a Paralegal Trainee -- in a two-attorney law office working real estate, bankruptcies, family law, and criminal law. Back when everything was done by physically going to the county courthouse to do title searches, bringdowns, and checking court records. What amazed me, and still sits in my memory today, is my first time going to the law library to shephardize a case — the size of the old leather-bound books — they were huge! Not to mention dusty. lol. Technology was born and we were all slowly transitioning from electric typewriters to computers.

When I returned to my hometown in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, I accepted an offer at a well-known and respected law firm as a Litigation Paralegal. My caseload consisted of complex litigation matters (medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury cases). I was assigned my own caseload and it was my responsibility to work each case from complaint to trial and appeal. I was also known as the “subrogation queen”. Still today, I am not sure how I acquired that responsibility, but it all worked out for me. That same year my accountant (who was also a friend) said he needed tax preparers for the upcoming tax season and asked if I was interested -- I started preparing taxes. At that time, they were straightforward and easy.

In 2000, the law firm I had been employed for almost ten years split up. I went with the senior partner and his daughter to their new office. I took on the Independent Litigation Paralegal role working on complex litigation and other areas of law.  In 2001, my late husband was hired at Micron and moved to Idaho.  The girls and I followed in the late summer of 2002.  At that time, I was still working with a few attorneys in Pennsylvania preparing demand letters, wills, power of attorneys, living wills, and handling subrogation and personal injury matters.

In 2005, my Idaho experience began -- I was hired at a Plaintiff's firm handling personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, and commercial litigation. Since 2007, I have assisted many attorneys with Plaintiff cases, insurance defense, education law, employment law, personal injury, complex litigation, civil litigation, civil rights, aviation, and antitrust matters. Sometime in 2017, I decided to return to the world of tax preparation for individual taxpayers, including single-person LLCs and sole proprietorships.

To date, I have accepted projects from Pennsylvania Utah and Oregon. I am open to long-term, short-term, and contract assignments from Idaho and the surrounding bordering states.

Resume and references available upon request.
